"(Kuala Lumpur) – The Brunei government’s introduction of a new Sharia penal code poses grave threats to basic rights, especially for the country’s most vulnerable people, Human Rights Watch said today.
The penal code, which goes into effect on April 3, 2019, requires death by stoning for extramarital sex, anal sex, and abortion; amputation of limbs for stealing; and 40 lashes with a whip for lesbian sex. Children who have reached puberty and are convicted of these offenses can receive the same punishments as adults; certain younger children may be subjected to whipping."

Although ancient codes in "Christian" nations also had some, like, laws it appears that most nations, not with Muslim majorities, have
progressed away from such insults to justice and civilization.
Perhaps those (eg Pope Francis) who refuse to condemn the unalterable and horrid commands in the
Koran, Hadith and other Islamic works, might well take notice of the above as the price of allowing
such tyrannies to continue receiving positive attention from civilized human beings.
