TO WHOM DOES THE
LAND OF ISRAEL BELONG??
An Israeli Sense
of Humor at United Nations set the record straight.
An ingenious
example of speech and politics occurred recently in the
United
Nations Assembly
and made the world community smile.
A representative
from Israel began: 'Before beginning my talk I want to
tell
you something
about Moses: When he struck the rock and it brought
forth
water, he thought,
"What a good opportunity to have a bath!"
Moses removed his
clothes, put them aside on the rock and entered the
water.
When he got out
and wanted to dress, his clothes had vanished.
A Palestinian had
stolen them!
The Palestinian
representative at the UN jumped up furiously and
shouted,
"What are you
talking about? The Palestinians weren't there then."
The Israeli
representative smiled and said, "And now that we have made
that

Great job falling for an urban legend, James.

Regardless, Israel only currently "belongs" to the citizens of Israel.
The Hebrews took the land by conquest way back then. In the intervening years, their population became diluted through being invaded and conquered by various Ancient Kingdoms.
The Babylonians conquered them and took thousands of the people back to Babylon. Later, Assyria conquered them and totally removed the inhabitants by spreading them throughout their empire. This diluted their nationalism and assimilated them into the Assyrian Empire (it was also an efficient way to head off revolts).
After that, other peoples relocated into the region now that it was largely unpopulated and lived there until the late 1940's.
After WWII, the new world order created a new Jewish homeland to prevent another holocaust (since the Jews had been living all over the world and were discriminated against in most of those places).
So, now the Israelis consider the land to be their ancestral homeland returned to them while the Palestinians consider it their ancestral homeland taken away from them.
Obviously, neither side is going to budge an inch.
Your history is quite incorrect. The Jews did conquer Israel in about 1300BCE. They established a state in about 1000BCE which lasted about 100 years when the one Jewish state split into two Jewish states: Israel and Judah. These two states lasted about another 100 years when the northern Jewish state of Israel was captured by the Assyrians. The southern state of Judah continued until about 500BCE, when it ears conquered by Babalonia. Many Jews were exhaled then, however about 75 years later the Persians conquered Babalonia and the King of Persia, Cyrus, allowed thevJews to return to Israel and he even paid for the reconstruction of the Jewish Temple in Jerusalem. Judah lasted about another 500 years until it was finally destroyed by Rome in 70 and 135 CE.
So there were actually two Jewish kingdoms in Israel, one which lasted one or two centuries and the other that lasted over 1000 years. In addition Jews has lived in Israel continuously for over 1000 years before Jesus was born and 2000 years before the first Palestinian Arab stepped on the land.
Also WWII had very little to do with the formation of the current Israel. The Mandate of Palestine formulated after WWI in about 1921 calked for the creation of A Jewish state on the land called Palestine,
