To The Pope On War

August 4, 2007

Your Holiness:

You have again called wars "useless slaughters", this time on July 22, 2007 at a noon hour service. Do you consider all wars useless?

Perhaps, you considers the wars of the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth against the Islamic-Tartar hordes which would have taken over Europe from the North-East as "useless". Do you consider the Polish-German campaign, successful on a much better "9/11", against the Turkish armies at the Gates of Vienna or the international navy which defeated the Turks at Lepento as unneeded defenses of Christian Europe and true civilization. Perhaps, he has concluded it would have been better for the Spanish to not wage hundreds of years of war against the Moors to do the same.

I wonder how many Blacks would have remained in slavery except for the war-like campaigns of the British Navy against that evil AND the most deadly war ever fought by the USA, the War Between The States.

Closer to your home land, do you consider World War-I, which repulsed the evil that was Imperial Germany, created an independent Poland and freed other peoples from Austrian and Turkish domination as useless? Even closer to your own time and experience, do you consider the "Crusade In Europe" which destroyed the Nazi EVIL and kept even more Jews, Gypsies, Slavs and other untermenchen from extermination as "useless"?

How many more Nan-King massacres and forced prostitution of "comfort women" might have been inflicted by the Imperial Japanese Army except for the blood shed in destroying that "Evil Empire"? No doubt the Christians and others of South Korea would have chosen the death camp rule of North Korea rather than see the "useless slaughter" which kept them from that fate.

How many millions would Saddam Hussein have slaughtered if he had not been defeated by essentially Western armies? (Many more that the losses now being suffered in Iraq!)

As your plea to give up weapons in favor of "the rule of law": WHERE IS THAT RULE OF LAW IN THE DARFUR TO STOP THE GENOCIDAL CAMPAIGN OF THE JIHADI AGAINST THE CHRISTIANS AND PAGANS OF THAT PLACE?

You do not appear to understand that: Before peace and justice must come law; Before law there must be order; And, all are based on the force-of-arms---In the hands of those warriors who will maintain the right, create order, enforce laws and, hopefully, bring justice. (Or, are you too German to understand that?)

Yet, I still remain your crusader son in +,
