The teacher looks at the girl with surprise and says, "Janie, why didn't you raise your hand?" "Because I'm not a Democrat," she replied. Best Qualificaton For Voting
Rather than raw political knowledge about the transient members of ;the Government, I suggest the following qualification for all citizens under 30-years of age.
A minimum of 20-months of honorable service in the Armed forces of the USA or the US Coast Guard or (In such dangerous places as East Africa, East Los Angeles, Spanish Harlem) equivalent civilian service (Not less than 300-miles from their home-town) as the Peace Corps, Domestic Peace Corps, US Public Health Service, Etc..
I am also opposed to any person serving as Secretary Of Defense and his/her next two highest level of administrators being allowed to serve without that same and dangerous service.
The voters should consider the prior, dangerous, service of candidates for every elected Federal office.
An Amendment to the Constitution would be required for, at least, the voting restriction above, which might well have a ten year (After ratification) delay to allow citizens to satisfy this requirement. Feminists and real women are welcome into the noted organizations. Twenty-months of "don't ask, don't tell" is not an unreasonable condition.

I must confess that I lacked that sound knowledge of philosophy/theology to fully understand the fullness of the first chapters in this notable book. However, my avocational interest in history allowed me to plow through to the "practical" chapters and content. Although I have provided you with some other reviews far below, my own comments follow here.
1. There was an Islamic "golden age" when many Muslims took the best that other cultures, in their world, to develop Islamic thought. The author noted that the influence of "Athens" (ie Logic and critical thinking) allowed some Muslims to look to "cause and effect", one of the bases of the scientific method, and to use logic in an effort to understand anything, including the nature of God/Allah. Much of what had been lost in the West of "Athens" (And other intellectual treasures in lands conquered by Islam) was saved and sent back to the West. During this time much of what some of today's Muslims present (Perhaps as "disinformation") to non-Muslims as evidence of the flexibility and openness of Muslims.
2. During that era some Muslims used the above methods to develop critical-and-scientific thinking and began the development of physical science in the Muslim world.
3. To the detriment of the Islamic world, Muslims and all others in this world The persons controlling policy and teachings in Islam attacked the intellectual methods noted above and condemned all such thinking as shirk (ie Heresy) and harram (Forbidden), to the extent that the possibility of the death-penalty was a possible-probable fate for any Muslims who wished to use the noted and rational approaches to knowledge and thinking.The focus became blind obedience (Of course as guided by the legalistic "thinkers" of the newer and retrograde Islam), It was maintained that nothing could occur without the direct intervention of Allah, even to the extent that Hydrogen and Oxygen could not become water without His allowing such. This newer Islam eliminated any NATURAL LAW, in the physical or moral worlds.
4. I do note that Mr. Reilly did declare that the above came out of the Sunni branch of Islam; But, also noted that today's use of the Internet and the influence of the extremist Islam supported by the oil-rich Saudis has been spreading this view to other Islamic communities/sects.
5, This blind obedience and lack of moral Natural Law has led to a wide-spread:Lack of consideration of any "unbelievers" or outsiders as real human beings; And, a willingness to put into active effect those Koran-based teachings which allow or encourage, and often command, the use of murder, rape and enslavement, genocide, and the other horrors presented by Mohammed as the actual and unalterable (Since Mohammed's death) words of Allah. There is also an expressed preference for the "use of the sword" to "spread the word".
6. Some years ago I forced myself to read Hitler's Mein Kampf. After reading the Koran I found too many parallels (Hatred of Jews, Anti-Intellectualism, desire to destroy all other ideologies/religions, a glorification of violence, Etc.) to be willing to accept either as a guideline for human-humane behaviors and society.
My hope is that all teachers whose classes touch on Islam, all non-Muslim religious leaders, all elected and policy setting appointed officials, editors-and-publishers, TV "talking heads", senior military and diplomatic staff and all other "thought leaders" become aware of Mr.Reilly's work and thoughts AND integrate them into their policies, teachings, commentary, editorials, sermons, etc.. As to Christian leaders who become aware of this book, failure to read, understand and apply its lessons could well be considered a sin against that religion or treason against its daughter, Western Civilization (Or, such of it as is left to us). The same treason could be assigned to the other noted persons who do the same as well as "misconduct in office" or very unprofessional conduct.
Of course, it would be best if the like Muslim officials, teachers, etc. took this book's lessons to heart and returned Islam to a rational and golden age.

New Words For Our Era
Every age requires or generates new words to reflect the spirit of the ear and to provide a shorthand method of expressing thoughts and concepts which would otherwise require sentences or phases ore even paragraphs to express. "Radar", "beat", "WMD", "N-word" and others are four among many thousands of such terms. Below is my offering of four ;more, which should be approved for use by your staff via your publication's "style book" and also used in the broadcast media.
obama, noun: A lie so blatant that only the mentally limited or intoxicated cannot fail to recognize it as such; But, one which most will not declare a lie for fear of being called a "racist". This should noun should now replace the less emphatic sharpton.
to muslim-speak. verb: To tell lies no less than obamas in magnitude; But, with the intent of providing military-type disinformation to excuse-or-cover the methods (eg Murder, rape and enslavement, genocide, perpetual war with unbelievers, treaty-breaking) and the goals of Islam (eg Destruction of all religions-or-ideologies other than Islam, Placement of the entire world under the rule of Muslims, Replacement all political-and-legal systems with Sharia).
islamoforia noun: The state of being on-guard against Islam; Based on the Greek word for being on-guard; To replace, for a free and armed People, the word "Islamophobia".
homoaidia noun: The normal state or reaction of most males to being confronted with the physical actions of male homosexuals; Based on the Greek word for disgust or revulsion; To normally replace the word homophobia, except where minor children are involved.

Isalm, Christianity, Truth & Teaching Muslims
Too many "Christian religions leaders" and editors/publishers of "Christian" periodicals are so ignorant of history (Or, for devious reasons, w, or with most Muslims; But, with a small number of terrorists who are Muslim.
They are dangerously wrong! The war was declared by Mohammed, against all "unbelievers", more than 1400-years ago and is perpetual until all such either join Islam or accept the degrading and slave-like status of dhimitude. This war continues throughout the world, to this day, in such places as The Sudan, other parts of Africa, Thailand, The Philippines and the USA.
That war is called Jihad which may be conducted by individuals (eg Major Hasan of Fort Hood treason & infamy), small groups (eg The 19 "martyrs" of "9/11"), State supported bands (The janjaweed of The Sudan) and even national armies.
Islam requires that all of its adult males wage military/violent jihad or "support it with all their wealth" (The end point of much/most "Islamic charities").
Islam itself is NOT a religion; But, a criminal-terrorist movement whose basic teachings allow or encourage the use of murder, rape and enslavement, genocide, the above-noted perpetual war, unjust treatment of women and "unbelievers" with the goal of destroying all forms of government and law other than under Sharia. That Islam is a religion is the biggest lie in history---And, makes a liar of everyone who repeats it.
As a Christian I am not to hate individuals (eg Muslims); But, I do hate Islam and will support all efforts to destroy it and those who wage war or plan to wage war in its name.
Since we are at war with Islam (As declared by Mohammed and continued by his followers to this day), we should make the same efforts we used to destroy Nazism. Any future "9/11" style attack should be answered by an "object lesson"; The only problem is selecting the right target.
For those who beat the drum of forgiving enemies, I am willing to do so (We should be willing to do so) when the sinners admit their offenses with the real intent of not repeating them! ('Go and sin no more".)
Failure to tell the truth about Islam (Or forwarding it in any manner) is "bearing false witness" against the multitude of the victims of that Nazi-like ideology and is evil in itself by any such acts of commission or omission.

Some years ago I forced myself to read a book (And its related documents) which had hatred of Jews as a core idea, glorified war, expressed a general hatred of those who disagreed with the author and led to a great war and gross acts of genocide. That book was A. Hitler's "Mein Kampf".
More recently I read a like book (And associated documents) which has much the same theme, has resulted in a 1400-year history of aggressive wars and many acts of genocide to this day in such places as the Sudan. That book is the Koran.

I Will Burn Hate Literature
I am, with the intent of very publicly burning such, collecting some hate-filled books and other literature. This act may result in in some feeling that their ideology, that ideology's founder and, in some cases, ethnic background were the subject of deadly insults. However, as that literature allows or encourages or glorifies, and often commands, the use of murder, enslavement, genocide, war, the establishment of one group of people of being superior to all others, they will be burnt before as many persons and news reporters as possible!
That printed material includes, but is not limited to, such as: Adolf Hitler's Mein Kampf; Other Nazi publications; Many pre-1945 Japanese government and press documents; The same for that from the misrule of Bonito Mussolini; The terrible edicts of J. Stalin and Pravda press releases and Mao's writings.
What did you think I would be burning? Did I miss some such hate-filled book?

“IN PRAISE OF THE NEW KNIGHTHOOD”--INTRODUCTION:: This work was written by Saint Bernard of Clairvaux one of the few declared “Doctors of the Church” in the year of our Lord, 1129 and was addressed to the first Master General of the Military Order of Templars. Although almost 1,000-years old, this document can still speak to us at a time when the Churches and Peoples of God are under external and internal attack by those who would destroy them and leave only a desolation of moral and intellectual emptiness as is the apparent goal of the Evil One.
THE AUTHOR AND HIS AUTHORITY: Saint Bernard was born in 1070 and died in August, 1153. As a “Doctor of the Church” his writings have great weight in the definitions of what is the correct view of the Church and its teachings. It applies to all Christians in all subsequent times, especially those under attack by the followers of that false pseudo-prophet Mohamed.
DE LAUDE NOVAE MILITAE-THEN: This work addressed the spiritual direction of what was then a new order of knights, the Templars, who were pristine in their commitment to the Church and their willingness to physically protect it in the Holy Land. If that Order became corrupt at a later date (The downfall of the Templars may have been caused by the greed of a French king and jealousy within the Church), that does not detract from the teachings of St. Bernard and the value of such knighthood in 1129AD; And for all who are, formally or informally, knights who protect us from evil, even to this time..
This direction was specially needed after the misbehavior of some crusaders in both Constantinople and in the Holy Land.
DE LAUDE NOVAE MILITAE—NOW AND IN THE FUTURE: At the very least and at this time the Church is being attacked by external enemies, generally “muslims”, in the Sudan, the Philippines and in other places. Many of those who support the teachings of the Koran and the Hadith are attacking (Directly or by giving active support to those who do) all civilization every where, even in “islamic” nations. This is not a new conflict as those who follow the teachings of that false and pernicious prophet Mohamed have, for more than 1400-years, have continued their adherence to the Koran's commands for aggressive war (Jihad) against all others and, thereby, work the evil of retail murder, genocide, rape, pillage, the destruction of cultures and the social, political, legal and economic subjugation of those not “muslims” and of all women.
It seems reasonable that we need a new military order of knights who will have that same commitment as did the early Templars and will follow the teachings of St. Bernard as to the proper way in which to be knights and to “fight the good fight”. Why?
Because, with the exception of too few in the USA and even fewer in other places, no one in this world is willing to declare the truth about the danger of “islam” (Perhaps motivated to silence by Arab controlled oil or pathological pacifism or “political correctness” or (Like France} a large and aggressive “muslim” community or a hate of the Churches' moral teachings (Which teachings confront their self-centered, fragile and meaningless senses-of-self-worth).
Therefore, we now require some organized force or agreeable class of unorganized persons who will defend the Churches of God and civilization from such attacks as now exist and have existed for almost 1500-years.
What then did Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, Doctor of the Church, write about the proper way of being a Christian knight?
SAINT BERNARD'S STATEMENTS: I have reviewed the translation of De Laude Novae Militae available to me, edited out those parts which were specific to only the time in which they were wrote, made slightly free with the translation (To suit modern usage) and am left with the following, given as if there were such a new military order in this time and already at work in this world, especially the Middle East.
“It seems that a New Knighthood has recently appeared on the earth, precisely in that part of it, the Orient (nb The Middle East), in which He visited
from on high in the flesh. As He then troubled the princes of darkness in the
strength of His Mighty Hand,so there he now wipes out their followers, the
children of disbelief, scattering them by the hands of His mighty ones. ... This
is, I say, a new kind of knighthood and one unknown to the ages gone by. It
ceaselessly wages a twofold war both against flesh and blood and against a
spiritual army of evil ....
Go forth confidently then, you knights, and repel the foes of the cross of
Christ with a stalwart heart. Know that neither death nor life can separate you from the love of God which is in Jesus Christ; And in every peril repeat, “Whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's.” What a glory to return from in victory from such a battle! How blessed to die there as a martyr! Rejoice, brave athlete! If you live and conquer in the Lord; But, glory
and exult even more if you die and join your Lord. Life indeed is a fruitful
thing and victory is glorious, but a holy death is more important than either.
If they are blessed who die in the Lord, how much more are they blessed who die
for the Lord! ....
Indeed, danger or victory for a Christian depends on the dispositions of his
heart and not on the fortunes of war. If he fights for a good reason, the issue
of his fight can never be evil; And, likewise, the results can never be considered
good if the reason were evil and the intentions perverse. If you happen to be
killed while you are seeking only to kill another, you die a murderer. If you
succeed, and by your will to overcome and to conquer you perchance kill a man,
you live a murderer. Not it will not do to be a murderer, living or dead, victorious
or vanquished. What an unhappy victory---To have conquered a man while yielding to vice and to indulge in an empty glory at his fall when wrath and
pride have gotten the better of you. ...
But, the Knights of Christ may safely fight the battles of their Lord, fearing neither sin if they smite the enemy, nor danger at their own death, since to
inflict death or the die for Christ is no sin, but rather, an abundant claim to
glory. In the first case, one gains for Christ, and in the second, on gains
Christ Himself. The Lord freely accepts the death of the foe who has offended
Him, and yet more freely gives Himself for the consolation of the fallen knight.
The knights of Christ, I say, may strike with confidence and die yet more
confidently, for he serves Christ when he strikes and serves himself when he
falls. Neither does he bear his sword in vain, for he is God's minister, for the
punishment of evildoers and for the praise of the good. If he kills an evildoer, he
is not a mankiller; But, if I may so put it, a killer of evil. He is evidently the avenger of Christ towards evildoers and he is rightly considered a defender
of Christians. ... When he inflicts death it is for Christ's profit and when he
suffers death, it is for his own gain. The Christian glories in the death of
the pagan (nb At that time, “muslims” were considered pagans), because
Christ is glorified ....
I do not mean to say that the pagans are to be slaughtered when there is
any other way to prevent them from harassing and persecuting the faithful,
but only that it now seems better to destroy them than evil should come to theirjust and that the righteous be tempted into wrongdoing (i.e. Converting to
“islam” for economic or social or status reasons OR by force?).
What then? If it is never permissible for a Christian to strike with the sword, why
did the Savior's precursor (nb St. John the Baptist) bid the soldiers to be content with their pay, and not forbid them to follow their calling? ...

FURTHER COMMENTS: The language of this document is, by modern standards, very elaborate and convoluted. Much of this document applies only to the time in which it was written and to the Jerusalem and Templars of that time.
However, much of the teaching applies to all ages and to the use of military force by Christians. If the Christian warrior avoids pride, vengeance and other like weaknesses and battles only for justice, for the punishment of evildoers and for the protection of innocents (e.g. Christians in “islamic” nations), then killing incidental to such noble activities is not sinful and is not murder.
The calm, without-hate, professional and focused waging of war by the forces of the USA, Poland, the UK and a few other nations in Iraq and Afghanistan appear to generally meet the standards set by this noted Doctor of the Church. The reflective person might compare such knightly waging of war with the emotional, hateful, vengeful and assassin-like behaviors of such organizations as Hitler's SS {Einsatzgruppen}, Serbian genocidists, Latin American death squads, Hamas, Islamic Jihad, Hezbullah, Black September, the insane persons who follow Osama bin Laden, those who directed the Iraq-Iran war of a few years ago and too many others to name.
If the modern, Christian, knight now serves under the flag of a secular nation, it does not matter. If such a knight serves privately, it does not matter. What does matter is service up to the standards set by St. Bernard and what is in the mind and heart of every such knightly person.
I note that those who, in Iraq, did not come up to these standards are being punished.
Although St. Bernard questions the propriety of killing to defend ones self, the Catechism Of The Catholic Church declares the ultimate right to self-defense and the duty to defend others to be proper and does not put excessive limits on the use of force to do so; And, by extension and so as to not make that teaching meaningless, on the access to effective and individual weapons when the civil authorities cannot provide effective and immediate protection.
Of course, such a knighthood as is described above cannot flourish in an unjust society (This lack may have been at the base of the failure of the Templars and of the Crusades of ancient times). Therefore, our posited and new knighthood must look to their own society as to instilling justice and morality. By preference, this should be done by the persuasion of others to just and moral ways OR by prayer OR by political and economic actions. Lacking success by those methods, the use of force is justified AND necessary!

“IN PRAISE OF THE NEW KNIGHTHOOD”--INTRODUCTION:: This work was written by Saint Bernard of Clairvaux one of the few declared “Doctors of the Church” in the year of our Lord, 1129 and was addressed to the first Master General of the Military Order of Templars. Although almost 1,000-years old, this document can still speak to us at a time when the Churches and Peoples of God are under external and internal attack by those who would destroy them and leave only a desolation of moral and intellectual emptiness as is the apparent goal of the Evil One.
THE AUTHOR AND HIS AUTHORITY: Saint Bernard was born in 1070 and died in August, 1153. As a “Doctor of the Church” his writings have great weight in the definitions of what is the correct view of the Church and its teachings. It applies to all Christians in all subsequent times, especially those under attack by the followers of that false pseudo-prophet Mohamed.
DE LAUDE NOVAE MILITAE-THEN: This work addressed the spiritual direction of what was then a new order of knights, the Templars, who were pristine in their commitment to the Church and their willingness to physically protect it in the Holy Land. If that Order became corrupt at a later date (The downfall of the Templars may have been caused by the greed of a French king and jealousy within the Church), that does not detract from the teachings of St. Bernard and the value of such knighthood in 1129AD; And for all who are, formally or informally, knights who protect us from evil, even to this time..
This direction was specially needed after the misbehavior of some crusaders in both Constantinople and in the Holy Land.
DE LAUDE NOVAE MILITAE—NOW AND IN THE FUTURE: At the very least and at this time the Church is being attacked by external enemies, generally “muslims”, in the Sudan, the Philippines and in other places. Many of those who support the teachings of the Koran and the Hadith are attacking (Directly or by giving active support to those who do) all civilization every where, even in “islamic” nations. This is not a new conflict as those who follow the teachings of that false and pernicious prophet Mohamed have, for more than 1400-years, have continued their adherence to the Koran's commands for aggressive war (Jihad) against all others and, thereby, work the evil of retail murder, genocide, rape, pillage, the destruction of cultures and the social, political, legal and economic subjugation of those not “muslims” and of all women.
It seems reasonable that we need a new military order of knights who will have that same commitment as did the early Templars and will follow the teachings of St. Bernard as to the proper way in which to be knights and to “fight the good fight”. Why?
Because, with the exception of too few in the USA and even fewer in other places, no one in this world is willing to declare the truth about the danger of “islam” (Perhaps motivated to silence by Arab controlled oil or pathological pacifism or “political correctness” or (Like France} a large and aggressive “muslim” community or a hate of the Churches' moral teachings (Which teachings confront their self-centered, fragile and meaningless senses-of-self-worth).
Therefore, we now require some organized force or agreeable class of unorganized persons who will defend the Churches of God and civilization from such attacks as now exist and have existed for almost 1500-years.
What then did Saint Bernard of Clairvaux, Doctor of the Church, write about the proper way of being a Christian knight?
SAINT BERNARD'S STATEMENTS: I have reviewed the translation of De Laude Novae Militae available to me, edited out those parts which were specific to only the time in which they were wrote, made slightly free with the translation (To suit modern usage) and am left with the following, given as if there were such a new military order in this time and already at work in this world, especially the Middle East.
“It seems that a New Knighthood has recently appeared on the earth, precisely in that part of it, the Orient (nb The Middle East), in which He visited
from on high in the flesh. As He then troubled the princes of darkness in the
strength of His Mighty Hand,so there he now wipes out their followers, the
children of disbelief, scattering them by the hands of His mighty ones. ... This
is, I say, a new kind of knighthood and one unknown to the ages gone by. It
ceaselessly wages a twofold war both against flesh and blood and against a
spiritual army of evil ....
Go forth confidently then, you knights, and repel the foes of the cross of
Christ with a stalwart heart. Know that neither death nor life can separate you from the love of God which is in Jesus Christ; And in every peril repeat, “Whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's.” What a glory to return from in victory from such a battle! How blessed to die there as a martyr! Rejoice, brave athlete! If you live and conquer in the Lord; But, glory
and exult even more if you die and join your Lord. Life indeed is a fruitful
thing and victory is glorious, but a holy death is more important than either.
If they are blessed who die in the Lord, how much more are they blessed who die

Indeed, danger or victory for a Christian depends on the dispositions of his
heart and not on the fortunes of war. If he fights for a good reason, the issue
of his fight can never be evil; And, likewise, the results can never be considered
good if the reason were evil and the intentions perverse. If you happen to be
killed while you are seeking only to kill another, you die a murderer. If you
succeed, and by your will to overcome and to conquer you perchance kill a man,
you live a murderer. Not it will not do to be a murderer, living or dead, victorious
or vanquished. What an unhappy victory---To have conquered a man while yielding to vice and to indulge in an empty glory at his fall when wrath and
pride have gotten the better of you. ...
But, the Knights of Christ may safely fight the battles of their Lord, fearing neither sin if they smite the enemy, nor danger at their own death, since to
inflict death or the die for Christ is no sin, but rather, an abundant claim to
glory. In the first case, one gains for Christ, and in the second, on gains
Christ Himself. The Lord freely accepts the death of the foe who has offended
Him, and yet more freely gives Himself for the consolation of the fallen knight.
The knights of Christ, I say, may strike with confidence and die yet more
confidently, for he serves Christ when he strikes and serves himself when he
falls. Neither does he bear his sword in vain, for he is God's minister, for the
punishment of evildoers and for the praise of the good. If he kills an evildoer, he
is not a mankiller; But, if I may so put it, a killer of evil. He is evidently the avenger of Christ towards evildoers and he is rightly considered a defender
of Christians. ... When he inflicts death it is for Christ's profit and when he
suffers death, it is for his own gain. The Christian glories in the death of
the pagan (nb At that time, “muslims” were considered pagans), because

any other way to prevent them from harassing and persecuting the faithful,

What then? If it is never permissible for a Christian to strike with the sword, why

The Ninth Circuit Wrong Again
The US Ninth Circuit Court Of Appeals (On the "left coast") has ruled that it is "OK" for police to put a GPS device on a suspect's auto, out of sight, in the dead-of-night, on his property (ie Driveway) (1) to track his later movements, without a warrant obtained from a judge
This represents another example of tyrannical judges who either cannot understand the intent of the writers of our Bill Of Rights OR, as is more likely, do not wish to accept that basis of our laws as still in-force. This is not much different to the lack of respect for the First Amendment's "Congress shall make no law...", the "...shall not be infringed" of the Second Amendment (As well as the meaning of "militia" in the late 1780s (2) ) and the entire Tenth Amendment.
More importantly, they ignore the fact that the Constitution provides, by amendment, its own methods for adding or deleting rights through the People's elected representatives and NOT by judicial fiat. The Ninth Circuit Court Of Appeals has, by the above noted ruling, taken upon itself AND from the People the power to remove a civil right.

New Muslim Related Industry For USA
Without regard to the practices-and-policies of the Obama administration, it is reasonable to state that those jobs which pay more in taxes than they use up are chiefly created by small businesses.
If the below parable was a news report, I would buy in on any stock offering for such a company.
A friend of mine just started his own business, making landmines that look like prayer rugs.

A "Pollack Joke"---On Me
Dear Friends:
As I began to read this AP story I was going to comment on it that, as a person of Polish decent, I did not think this newsworthy. And ....

The 35-year-old man was hit by a .22-calibre bullet in the town of Herne as he was out in the street partying and drunk on New Year's Eve five years ago, police said overnight.
They say the man recalled receiving a blow to the head, but told them he didn't seek medical assistance at the time.
The bullet did not penetrate the skull, and police say the Polish man only went to see a doctor recently when he felt a lump on the back of his head.
An X-ray showed an object under his skin, and doctors operated and found the projectile.
Police say it may have been a stray bullet fired by a reveller in celebration.

"Wisconsin Needs Bold Initiatives"
On Aug. 22nd the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel published "Wisconsin needs bold initiatives" as written by two academics. This offering was a matter of too many words to express too little and, more importantly, too little of value.
The reason so many of our best graduates are leaving Wisconsin (For where?) is that the new-and-needed jobs are not in our State. The authors are backwards in their reasoning. The initiatives needed do not include yet more tax eating agencies; But, those which will create such jobs as will keep those persons, educated at a great cost to themselves and to tax-payers, here. Those initiatives include:
1. Cutting back state spending so as to establish a state budget which is balanced without the black-magic of borrowing (Against our decedents' incomes) and political transfers from one democratically established fund to those which benefit the Governor of the day.
.2. The establishment of those policies which will reduce the load on small businesses and companies which high R&D budgets, both of which are central to job-creation.
3. Establish a program to give a noticeable part of paid tuition back to students who continue to live in Wisconsin and pay taxes here.
4. Make all payments to UW for patents or copyrights directly to the State General Fund for democratic allocation in accordance with the acts of the People's most direct representatives.
5. Freeze all increases in State salaries (Including those within UW) until
the above steps in firmly in place.

"Moderate Muslims"???
So, you think you have heard a "moderate Muslim" speak or write. You might send any such person a letter (See example below) to determine if they are really "moderate". Better yet, keep a copy for "discussion" with any such person you might meet, ON NEUTRAL GROUND, on a face-to-face basis.
Dear Abdul & Fatima:
This note, with the definition below, is being sent to you in response to your presumed claim to be a “Moderate Muslim” as per your ________ of ______.. If you are indeed such a person, then you will have no problems falling within the definition of “Moderate Muslim” given below.

Troops Back From Middle East??
There are good reasons to bring our troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan and, thereafter, from the EU.
1. These battle hardened troops could be redeployed to our border with Mexico to insure border security (Against job-and-identity thieves, Middle-Eastern terrorists disguised as Latinos, "gang bangers", drug lords' "hit" and kidnapping squads, previously deported criminals and other such scum), prevent or react to a Pancho Villa style raid on US territory AND to complete an effective border-fence (Not less than four rows of razor ribbon required) by use of engineer units backed-up by regulars.
2. To be available to execute their right to vote (Well before the 2012 elections) , now often very difficult to those troops (Could keeping them overseas be part of Mr.Obama's plan for reelection?).
3. To let those unruly and Islamic terrorists of that region kill each other as they have for the last 1400-years rather than focusing on killing "unbelievers".
4. To be available to suppress Islamic violence in the USA, most specially in the "no go" (And probably heavily armed) Muslim enclaves in our nation.
After that, the US troops in the EU should be recalled to the USA to the savings of much of our tax dollars. If, and only if, the nations of the EU wish to defend themselves from the aggression of Czar Putin and the too many Muslims now living there they must then increase their armed forces and related spending (It would be best if they did not arm-and-train terrorists---Muslims).
The disadvantages of the above actions are based on the fact that such Middle-Eastern combat makes our troops (At a terrible cost in blood and treasure) battle hardened and the only remaining large military force in the world in that condition. (UK and Canadian troops are excellent; But, they are parts of very small forces. Also, it is better to fight the criminal-terrorist movement known as Islam away from our cities and fields.

Jackson, Wilson, Obama, Mexico & Wrath
Florida was once the possession of Spain. However, Spain was unable to exercise its sovereignty and control its border with the USA and to prevent the Seminoles from raiding into the USA from their Spanish refuge. Andrew Jackson ordered US troops into Spanish territories and drove those raiders well away from our border.
During Mexico's early 20th century revolution, that nation was unable to exercise sovereignty over much of its land and its border with the USA. In 1916 "Pancho" Villa led a raid into New Mexico and murdered US Citizens. President Wilson ordered US regulars into Mexico in an unsuccessful attempt to capture Sr. Villa. Although unsuccessful in that effort, the raids into the USA ended----Until today's incursions by heavily armed smugglers, hit squads and kidnapping gangs.
It is very clear that the USA does NOT exercise sovereignty and control over much of its border with Mexico and, in essence, has turned over large parts of that area to Mexican outlaws. (Since those areas are effectively NOT within the control of governments, citizen militias and committees-of-vigilance should feel free to operate within them to suppress outlaws and terrorists---By any necessary means.) Certainly, equity and Natural Law denies governments any ethical recourse against armed parties (Government or others) who invade areas-outside-the-law to suppress banditry and terrorism.
To paraphrase: "Those who do not study and learn from history will be condemned to repeat it". To put it another way: Must we wait on a Pancho Villa style raid into the USA before we effectively and completely control our Southern border?
Perhaps, we should bring our battle-hardened troops back from Afghanistan (And leave the tribal leaders of that non-nation to kill each other as they have for 1000-plus years) and bring those men and women back to the USA where they would secure our border AND suppress banditry in the free-fire-zone which is much of Northern Mexico.
That would also make it more likely that their votes would be counted in the 2010 and 2012 General Elections as those Union troops did with their 70%-plus vote for Lincoln and the Republican Party in the 1864 election. (Hmmm! Is it possible that this may be a part of Mr. Obama's plans for those elections? His most left wing semi-supporters are critical of his troop use plans; But, may be underestimating the depth of his thinking/plotting.)
Those soldiers might then proclaim (Paraphrased): "If we should have to leave our bleached bones on these desert sands in vain, then beware of the anger of the legions!”

This volume presents itself as a “fair and balanced” discussion of violence, conscience, war, pacifism and related issues. However, there are enough errors-of-fact, twisted facts and half-truths (Worse than lies in my view), neglected sources and like weaknesses to allow a fair reader any conclusion other than it is an apologia for pacifism. Some of these issues are provided below.
Fahey lumps together Jews, Christians and Muslims in a essentially like group, falling into a major error of this era.
The Jews entered into a “covenant” (A contract) with the Almighty one. Tyrants do not enter into such contracts; But, rule with total disregard as to the welfare of his subjects. G_d punished and punishes violators of that contract; But, Jews were known to complain to Him of His abuse of “His People”.
The teachings of the Christ presented a family model for the Faith, with a Father, Son, uniting Holy Spirit and, even a mother in Mary, The People were encouraged to consider themselves as part of the Body of Christ in a more intimate-than-family relationship. The Triune God is forgiving, but just, in his actions and judgments, allowing free will and its freedom to fail or succeed an inherent part of humanity.
Islam worships an Allah (So unlike that of Christian Arabs) who is arbitrary, not obeying even his own laws or pronouncements, full of violence and evil. The ideology of Islam teaches that it is allowed or encouraged, and sometimes commanded, to use murder, rape-and-enslavement, genocide, perpetual war with “unbelievers” and the other horrors inflicted upon the world by Mohammed.
Mr. Faley ignores the other two, just and essentially peaceful and monotheistic religions, that of the Baha'i and the Sikhs. The latter group, although being essentially peaceful, know that they have a Natural Law right to self-defense and a duty to defend others. Where the law allows they wear swords and knives to remind themselves of the above. (Their last Guru, in fact, died in the defense of Hindus.)
In discussion the De Laude Novae Militae of St. Bernard of Clairvaux (A “Doctor Of The Church”) Mr. Fahey was very selective in the one verse he selected. He might better have chosen” :The knights of Christ, I say, may strike with confidence and die yet more confidently, for he serves Christ when he strikes and serves himself when he falls. Neither does he bear his sword in vain, for he is God's minister, for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of the good. Justice Delayed Is Justice Denied
"Justice delayed is justice denied" is one of the basic maxims of our legal system---And the one most violated---Which increases contempt for the Law.
With special regard to current events, that applies to the lack of justice and enforcement of existing immigration laws by the Federal Government and to the like lack of prosecution in the "New Black Panther" case.
If the US Government abrogates its duties to enforce the laws, responsibility goes (In the following order) to: The States; Counties/cities; The General Militia; "Committees Of Vigilance"; And, individual citizens.
Oh yes: The Second Amendment (And its equivalents in most/all states) is the enforcement for the First Amendment---AND the Tenth!

New Rules For Hunting Attorneys

While hunting has become a popular sport in many countries,
laws have to be developed to both keep the populations in balance
as well as to allow for a fair fight. New Rules and Regulations also
have to be legislated whenever new species become the object
of the hunt. With this is mind comes new regulations.

NEW REGULATIONS FOR THE HUNTING OF LAWERS
US Government Department of Fish and "WildLife"
Sec. 1200
1. Any person with a valid hunting license may harvest attorneys.
2. Taking of attorneys with traps or deadfalls is permitted. The use of currency as bait is prohibited.
3. Killing of attorneys with a vehicle is prohibited. If accidentally struck, remove dead attorney to roadside and proceed to nearest car wash.
4. It is unlawful to chase, herd, or harvest attorneys from a snow machine, helicopter, or aircraft.
5. It shall be unlawful to shout "whiplash","ambulance", or "free Perrier" for the purpose of trapping attorneys.
6. It shall be unlawful to hunt attorneys within 100 yards of BMW dealerships.
7. It shall be unlawful to hunt attorneys within 200 yards of courtrooms, law libraries, whorehouses, health spas, gay bars, ambulances, or hospitals.
8. If an attorney is elected to government office, it shall be a felony to hunt, "entrap", or possess it.
9. Stuffed or mounted attorneys must have a state health department inspection for rabies, and vermin.
10. It shall be illegal for a hunter to disguise himself as a reporter, drug dealer, pimp,female legal clerk, sheep, accident victim,bookie, or tax accountant for the purpose ofhunting attorneys.

(Maximum number of catches allowed per hunting season)
1. Yellow Bellied Sidewinder 2

Best Book: Second Amendment & Bill Of Rights
Halbrook, Stephen P. (Ll.D.);
The Founders' second Amendment: Origins Of The Right To Bear Arms;
Ivan R. Dee (Publisher), In Association With The Independent Institute;
Chicago, 2008
The above cited book is excellent for the following reasons:
1. It provides a deep and well documented (Original documents) review of the development of the Second Amendment to our Constitution and, more generally, of the Bill Of Rights and the Constitution;
2. The author presents both sides of each argument before and during the Revolution and during the development of the Bill Of Rights (Especially as to the Second Amendment) and the Constitution as they occurred and iin a logical sequence.;
3. The "Conclusions" chapter are very apparently the opinions of Mr. Halbrook and honestly separated from the body of this history.
Those who teach materials as to the subjects covered in this work would be unprofessional if they do not read this book. "Misconduct In Public Office" would be the least accusation I would make against any law-maker or jurist who fails to do the same before dealing with gun related issues. Editors and publishers who fail to know the materials in this volume should be considered unprofessional if they fail to consider the facts presented and conclusions made by Mr. Halbrook before reporting or writing editorials on the Second Amendment.
The points I found very interesting are here listed.
1. "The Militia" (Or "general militia) is the whole body of adult-and-free citizens who have a Natural Law Right to own weapons and to carry them anywhere they please AND may have a duty to own weapons for defense of self and his State.
2. The "well regulated militia" noted in the Second Amendment is that part of the "general militia" as organized into companies (Often at a town or village level) and equipped with standard firearms, drilled in military skills and organized into larger units (Usually under officers appointed by the Governor of each State).
3. These (Both) militias were seen as necessary for the defense of each State AND, much more important to most of the founders of the USA, to provide a defense against the potential tyranny of an overly powerful Federal government.
4. The "blunderbuss" was an early type of very short barreled shotgun, much like the sawed-off shotguns. These weapons were, in fact, sought by the members of the short-of-weapons early, revolutionary, militias, This is in opposition to the Federal Court case (Citation needed) which ruled that such shotguns were not nor never a militia weapon.
5. Pocket pistols were carried by our Founding Fathers with no concern as to CCW permits.
6. British General Gage was specially concerned about the "back woodsmen" most specially skilled in accurate long range shooting being often dependent on such hunting skills for survival
7. Even at the time of the writing of our Constitution and Bill Of Rights there were persons who distrusted the People as to possessing arms.
From other readings I note that:
1. Abraham Lincoln was elected as an officer of his militia company in the "Black Hawk War"; And,
2. As late as 1856 The US Supreme Court noted (In the Dred Scott case) that only free citizens could arm themselves and then travel as they saw fit. this being a right of citizens at that time (And now).

Making Islamic Martyrs----Help Achieve Goals
If Palestinians, those who share their militant-and-murderous ideology and their flunkies of the dhimitude inclination wish to be martyrs and to meet Allah (Or is it Shaitan or Iblis?), then we (In cool and dispassionate ways)must arrange for that status and meeting in the soonest possible time and with the least "collateral damage".

Too Many Words Seves Evil?
I have, to my point-of-view, today completed an extended debate with some assertive/militant/pathological pacifists. I have put, over the months, two questions which could best be answered by a Yes/No OR Choice A/B basis. Instead I continued to receive the same flood of words which can not be supported by the rules of exposition and rhetoric, by logic and (I believe) not even by the Scriptures AND, certainly NOT by Natural Law which was given to humanity by God.
I have reflected on the history of such techniques and who has used who is using them. I provide the following examples.
1. As to speeches: Adolf Hitler, Joseph Goebbels, Fidel Castro, Hugo Chavez, B. H. Obama and that front man for the mad mullahs of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinnejad.
2. As to written works: Mao and Joseph Stalin.
3. Those US attorneys who drown the courts with words to convince judges that black is white, up is down and wrong is right.
4. Those appellate judges who use masses of words to support the same attorney arguments AND to destroy the essentially simple ideas and rules of the US Constitution, jury decisions and votes by the People.
Yes, there are cultural differences in speaking and writing styles. Speakers of Arabic and Spanish tend to use more words to express the same ideas as can be expressed in other languages. But, if you do a semantic study of those speeches, you will detect the same excesses as noted above for some of the worst people in history and in our current world.
Those who use too many words, to cover up honest and concise statements, is in danger of being in service to the "Father Of Lies".
Edward Everett was reckoned one of the greatest orators of his time. Yet, who remember anything of his two hour speech at the dedication of the military cemetery at the Gettysburg battle site. Yet, any literate and real American has had exposure to that most expressive of speeches, lasting two minutes, by President Lincoln.
Truth is simple and simply separated from outright lies. Half-truths are usually buried in a sea of words which make them worse than lies. There is also the quote: "A lie told often enough becomes truth" Vladimir Lenin OR Adolf Hitler---A context in which I have place the repetitive and non-responsive statements of the noted pacifists (Who are at whose service?).
Now, have I used too many words?

Pacifist VS Soldier: Parables On Justification
For some time I have, by email, conducted a debate with some very assertive pacifists. Although I know we will not convert each other to even lean towards the others' points-of-view. I have continued this debate so that I might define, for myself, the issues of "just war", the best rules for a warrior, how much force should be used to stop a clear-and-present attack on innocents and to prevent future such attacks.
Below you will find two parables dealing with "justification".
Luke 18:9-14 (New International Version)
The Parable of the Pharisee and the Tax Collector
9To some who were confident of their own righteousness and looked down on everybody else, Jesus told this parable: 10"Two men went up to the temple to pray, one a Pharisee and the other a tax collector. 11The Pharisee stood up and prayed about[a] himself: 'God, I thank you that I am not like other men—robbers, evildoers, adulterers—or even like this tax collector. 12I fast twice a week and give a tenth of all I get.'
13"But the tax collector stood at a distance. He would not even look up to heaven, but beat his breast and said, 'God, have mercy on me, a sinner.'
14"I tell you that this man, rather than the other, went home justified before God. For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and he who humbles himself will be exalted."
The Parable of the Pacifist and the Warrior
Two men went to a Church to pray; one a committed-and-absolute pacifist, the other a simple warrior.

Supreme Court VS The Constitution?
After reading or hearing the sundry comments as to the Supreme Court I am reminded of four items.
1. The Constitution has its own provisions for such amendments as would add or subtract the rights of citizens (And legal immigrants); And,
2. President Thomas Jefferson's note on the interpretation of the Constitution: "On every question of construction carry ourselves back to the time when the Constitution was adopted, recollect the spirit manifested in the debates and instead of trying what meaning may be squeezed out of the text or invented against it, conform to the probable one in which it was passed." --Thomas Jefferson, letter to William Johnson, 1823.
3. There is nothing in the Constitution which provides for "evolving standards of decency" or any granting or taking away of rights except by the amendment process OR to limit the laws passed in the Several-and-Sovreign States except by such means.

Immigration & The Christ
The Cardinal-Archbishop of Los Angeles and many other Catholic “leaders” have made claims that Jesus the Christ would have supported open-borders and free immigrations into the USA.
That is a lie!
First, Jesus' kingdom was NOT of this world. How do I know? He said so himself! There is very little in the Gospels with direct application to government as opposed to the great number of verses addressed to the redemption of individuals and preaching His Word to the nations.
The most direct statement as to government was the classic “Give unto Caesar what is Caesar's and to God what is God's”. At the time of Jesus citizenship and residency in the Empire did, in fact, belong to Caesar and the Roman Senate. Through time that, in the USA, has passed to the Congress and the Legislature of the Several States (Yes, the States still have some residual power over citizenship, a power which may be increased when the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution is finally enforces.)

Surprise! Another Terrorist Muslim In USA
I doubt that too many persons are surprised that the person apparently (Self-admitted) responsible for the Times Square car bomb is a Muslim. The exceptions are those politicians, editors, professors, religious leaders and others who have accepted the state of dhimitude, that grossly inferior position allowed "unbelievers" under Islam.
As Muslims believe that the orders-and-commands in the Koran are the actual words of Allah and cannot be changed, it would appear that there will always be an ongoing stream of individual or collective Muslims who will wage the Koran-demanded perpetual war on us.
As that accused person is an American citizen, should (Must?) be charged with TREASON. However, it appears that those in our current Administration, who bow down before Islam (And its core leaders), will in this case, as in that of Major Hasan (Of Fort Hood infamy) not do so.
It also appears that the last sane national decision made as to such pools of terror was made by Spain in 1492 when it expelled all members of that criminal-terrorist movement out of Iberia. The "politically correct" denial of the potential of every adult-male Muslim to be a terrorist is based on ignorance--Or a pathological denial of reality.

The States' Concurrent Jurisdiction & "Illegals"
Some have claimed that the new Arizona "anti-illegal-immigrant" law is unconstitutional as the Federal (And unenforced) relevant laws preempt State jurisdiction. That is a false claim.
My State (Wisconsin) has laws punishing: Robbery (eg Of banks); Possession of a short-barreled (Sawed off) rifle or shotgun; Possession of a firearm by a felon; And, other and very serious crimes. The US Code also provides for the prosecution of "Bank Robbery" and the other crimes noted above. Offenders may be charged and tried for those offenses in either State or Federal (Or both) Courts. The penalties for State and Federal violations may be different.
I do not know of any person convicted in Wisconsin courts of those crimes who "beat the State rap" by claiming that the Federal laws preempt prosecution by the State.
The Arizona law merely asserts "concurrent jurisdiction" with the Federal government and Federal laws with differing penalties as is not uncommon in such matters.
Honesty in discussing Arizona's law demands the presentation of the above!

Thomas Jefferson's Private Letters
There was much made of President Thomas Jefferson's private letter to a church group, this letter being frequently quoted as to building an artificially high wall between churches and the public forums and sectors (eg "Prayer Days", school graduation ceremonies, Christmas decorations and use of Christian songs in schools and other public places).
Perhaps, we (Especially our judges and politicians) should pay more attention to such of that man's private letters as:

Defining Religious Freedom
"On 24 April 2020 the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel printed three essentially anti-religious or atheistic (However, atheism was declared a religion by the US 7th Circuit Court Of Appeals) letters from readers. Those writers all appear to be supporters of the "negative view of religious freedom".
"Negative Religious Liberty" means, in today's world, that no one should be harmed for what they believe (Including "moral" imperatives") or rituals practiced and statements made as to Faith---As long as such are kept out of public forums and NOT considered in voting for candidates or making public policies. This is the "liberal" or "secular humanist" position or standard which, of course, excludes religion-based "moral" choices (eg As to politics, abortion, war and other like and "hot" topics) as are likely to be in opposition to those held by "liberals" or "humanists" from even being considered by the general pubic, law makers, judges, ETC.. (This is, of course, the current and perverted interpretation of the first part of the First Amendment to the Constitution of the United States, the so-called "separation clause"!)
"Positive Religious Liberty" supports the full "free exercise of religion" (The second clause of the First Amendment) by allowing, if not encouraging, "Believers" to proclaim the tenets and practices of their religions in ALL forums; But, also and more importantly for this discussion, to have the ethical, moral and faith-based aspects of religions be accounted as valid issues and frameworks for voting and other public decision making.
Those letter writers should remember that Western Christianity was basic to: The founding of all real universities (The well sources of the science they tout); "Natural Law" as the basic guide to human dignity and freedom; The battles against enslavement of humans as specially demonstrated by the British and USA in the 1800s; The development of art and music; And, most of which is humane in humans. Even in war it was Western Christians who developed the "just war theories", Geneva Conventions and other laws-of-war which "make the best of a bad thing". It has been and is a traditional Christian sense of charity in which our government, agencies and individuals who have given so much to the poor and distressed in the world in wealth AND blood, limbs and lives.
Without Western Christianity and the American exceptionalism which has been in place, your writers would be living in: The deadness of a 1984 socialist tyranny; Or, in mud huts fearful of failing crops or barbarian raids.

Yes Mr. Bill Clinton: Words Do Matter!!!
Ex-president "Bill" Clinton has very recently stated, in effect, that "words do matter" and that they can lead to violence. I agree! The following words come to my mind.
1. "Give me liberty or death!!"
2. "If this be treason, make the most of it!"
3. "When, in the course of human events, it becomes necessary for one people to dissolve the political bands which have connected them with another, and to assume among the powers of the earth, the separate and equal station to which the laws of nature and of nature's God entitle them, a decent respect to the opinions of mankind requires that they should declare the causes which impel them to the separation. ...".
4. "Don't fire until you see the whites of their eyes!"
These 1770s words might be as applicable today as then. It would take very little to adapt the Declaration Of Independence to fit the true nature of too much of the Federal government of this era. The distance between the patriots of our first revolution and the government they opposed was in terms of sea-miles; The distance between our patriot-citizens of today and the government they oppose is measured in terms of concepts, power and arrogance.

"Who's Hosting The Tea Party?"
The most recent issue's of the Shepherd Express (So well known and beloved by us as the most radical weekly rag in this galaxy)had a front page asked the question: "Who's hosting the tea party?". It then provided its own list of people/organizations as hosts and funders. being those American industrialists and leaders who do real work in the real world AND provide like, non-bureaucratic, jobs for thousands.
My list is different and includes the following:
1. Patrick Henry;
2. The "Christian Militias" of Concord and Lexington who used deadly force to prevent tyrants from seizing their cannon (WMD) and gun-powder (Unauthorized explosives);
3. John Hancock, Thomas Jefferson and the other signers of the Declaration Of Independence;
4. The Adams family and citizens of Boston and the North-East who dumped tea into the water, attacked the houses and persons of government officials and who applied tar and feathers to certain anti-democracy persons as well as seizing and burning a British revenue ship;
5. The soldiers of Valley Forge who endured and with fellow Americans (And some French and Polish troops in French service) earned our nation's independence by blood and other sacrifices;
6. The soldiers of the Union Army called to service to preserve the Union, but many of whom fought to destroy the enslavement of people by White, Black and Native American slave holders;
7. The largely volunteer troopers who liberated Cuba and the Philippines, both now independent nations and NOT subject to US authority and law;
8. Such good men as Harry S. Truman who destroyed the aggressive empires of Germany and Austria;
9. The "Best Generation's" troops and workers who defeated the truly "Evil Empire" of Japan (With its "rape of Nan-King", "comfort women". etc.) and the even more evil and genocidal Nazi empire;
10. Those who fought in Korea and (As I did) kept watch during the "Cold War" to keep such monsters as J. Stalin and Mao from ruling the world;
11. Those who are now fighting against those who follow in execute the worst teachings of Islam; AND,
12. That very large portion (Perhaps majority in the near future) of Americans who have no desire to live in a bureaucrat run "nanny state" and wish the most-excellent teachings and principles of our Founding Fathers to again rule this nation---With special attention to the Tenth Amendment to the Constitution (Which should limit the Federal Government to specified tasks and limit the "commerce clause"), The First Amendment (Without government controls on free speech and as to the "free exercise of religion") and the Second Amendment which, as in the 1770s, enforces all the other rights.

Are Sub-Atomic Particles Real?
With the activation of the newest high-energy particle accelerator I again wonder if all of the many claimed sub-atomic particles are, in fact, separate entities or merely the same entity at different energy levels and viewed by different observational methods.
Another way of putting this, is the pantheon of such particles only the theology of physics' equivalent of "How many angels can dance on the head of a pin?".
No doubt that the high priests of physics will defend their well paying positions by punishing such heretics as myself as their counter-parts did to those who doubted the religion of global warming.

International Law On Piracy

TO UNDERSTAND THE POTENTIAL OF DEFINING TERRORISM as a species of piracy, consider the words of the 16th-century jurist Alberico Gentili's De jure belli: "Pirates are common enemies, and they are attacked with impunity by all, because they are without the pale of the law. They are scorners of the law of nations; hence they find no protection in that law." Gentili, and many people who came after him, recognized piracy as a threat, not merely to the state but to the idea of statehood itself. All states were equally obligated to stamp out this menace, whether or not they had been a victim of piracy. This was codified explicitly in the 1856 Declaration of Paris, and it has been reiterated as a guiding principle of piracy law ever since.
It has long been a principle of international law that pirates are the "enemies of all humanity", are "outside the protection of the law" and may be killed, with-or-without "due process of law", by any nation's agents or, in the act of piracy, by any person attacked by them. This is true even if those pirates are sanctioned or protected by some State.
The Law-Of-War does not protect pirates OR terrorists caught in the act of their crimes.Any disposition of pirates and terrorist, less than killing them, is an "act of grace" and NOT a right. This includes perpetual confinement (Under any conditions) and even "water boarding" to obtain such information as might allow the further suppression of piracy and terrorism.
To paraphrase: Those who do not study and learn from history will be condemned to repeat it. The lesson not learned, by the USA and the West, from the history of the 1800s "Barbary Pirates" is that paying ransoms to and compromising with pirates increases their criminal activity levels; AND, the only way to effective deal with them is to kill pirates, destroy their ships AND severely punish their bases-of-operations even if within the alleged jurisdiction of some semi-government as Somalia.

Back To "These" United States
I am neither an attorney nor a "constitutional scholar"; But, an avid student of history.. As such I wish to bring some "history" to apply to the recent "health care" legislation passed by the Congress and to like issues as to this nation's status as a Republic (And NOT a, more-or-less, pure or unified democracy).
Until, at the least, the War Between The States (Fought more over States' Rights than slavery), this nation was generally known as "These United States". Beginning after that most bloody war, the pendulum began to swing (Kicked more into motion by the two World Wars and, since 1945, by more and more "creative" judicial activism) towards having the USA known as "The United States".
Much of that expansion of Federal power appears to have been based on the use or misuse of the "Interstate Commerce Clause" of the Constitution---As written BEFORE the "Bill Of Rights" and, most specially its Tenth Amendment. All of those first ten amendments were required before the final acceptance of the Constitution to protect the rights of the People and, to some extent, the Several States.
Now, I am unable to mutate and mutilate the Constitution to the fine level of convoluted reasoning demonstrated by the Congress and, most specially, by those "High Priests Of The Religion Of The Law", more commonly called Federal Judges. But, I do understand that the noted clause was to prevent States from discriminating against the exports of other states and, incidentally to set the legal framework for tariff laws (The primary income source of the Federal Government for many years) and the then existing status of the "Indian" tribes as independent nations.
But, I am able to understand the logic that modifiers (The Tenth Amendment) limit or more finely define what came before OR towards what such are designed or intended to do. I also understand that the Fourteenth Amendment was to extend rights-and-powers to individual citizens under the (Full) jurisdiction of the Nation and NOT to extend Federal powers. I also know that the Constitution, itself, contains the amendment-means to add or delete "rights" through its amendment-clause. There is noting in that key and basic document which allows such changes in rights (eg Possession/manufacture of alcoholic beverages, votes for women) by some judicial "discovery of rights" and without the People's approval. (nb The "right to keep and bear arms" is in the Constitution, without any "reasonable conditions clause" and pre-dates that document in our legal traditions. It was recently confirmed, NOT discovered, by the Supreme Court.)
I suggest that the pendulum towards centralized, Federal, power has swung too much towards tyranny and needs to find a better balance-point. I suggest that the People's reaction to Chicago-style politics, in the Obama administration, may be the beginning of such a rational and democracy-supporting force---Unless we are again betrayed by some Judges and the Congress.

The "Religion Of Peace) In The USA
Those who claim that "Islam" is a "religion of peace" should attend to the following FACTS.

(2) We recently got taken to the mat by a polite, young Muslim living in the U.K. who took issue with our oft-repeated statement that no Muslim-American lost their life to vigilante violence following 9/11. She provided us a list of six or seven candidates and, after whittling out the ones where the killer was unknown or in cases with mitigating circumstances such as “victim was sleeping with killer’s ex-girlfriend” (and we're not making that up), we reached a shocking conclusion:
We were wrong.
There is one seemingly unambiguous case that occurred in Dallas, Texas where Waqar Hasan, a Muslim convenience store owner, was gunned down by Mark Anthony Stroman four days after the 9/11 attacks. Stroman claimed to have been motivated by anger from watching the towers fall. He is not exactly your average American, however, even apart from the shooting. For one thing, he is a white supremacist who carried a felony criminal record at the time of the attack. He also went on to shoot two more people in the weeks that followed.
Thankfully, an American jury sentenced Mark Stroman to death. The same cannot be said of many Muslim terrorists such as Lockerbie bomber, Abdelbaset Al Megrahi, who not only have sanctuary in Muslim countries, but are often treated as heroes by devout followers of Muhammad.
Nevertheless, we acknowledge that our friend is correct and that there was at least one Muslim killed in an anti-Arab hate crime in the U.S. following the anti-American hate crime on 9/11. For anyone keeping score:

Of course, 9/11 was neither the first nor the last time that Muslims have killed Americans on U.S. soil in terror attacks. In fact, since that day, Muslims have killed at least 52 people in 31 separate acts of terrorism in the United States (by the standards that Muslim-American groups set for hate crimes). Perhaps more importantly, there have been quite a few planned mass murders of Americans by Islamic terrorists that were thwarted by the FBI, law enforcement and overseas intelligence operations both before and after 9/11.
By contrast, Muslim-Americans do not appear to be in any special danger from murderous (non-Muslim) religious fanatics, even in a nation awash in firearms. Identity groups, such as CAIR, whine incessantly about relatively trivial incidents while turning a blind eye to the horrible violence that is meted out daily in the name of their religion. This distasteful petulance offers insight not only into the character of Islam, but also the impressive religious tolerance that Americans manage to maintain.

(2) We recently got taken to the mat by a polite, young Muslim living in the U.K. who took issue with our oft-repeated statement that no Muslim-American lost their life to vigilante violence following 9/11. She provided us a list of six or seven candidates and, after whittling out the ones where the killer was unknown or in cases with mitigating circumstances such as “victim was sleeping with killer’s ex-girlfriend” (and we're not making that up), we reached a shocking conclusion:
We were wrong.
There is one seemingly unambiguous case that occurred in Dallas, Texas where Waqar Hasan, a Muslim convenience store owner, was gunned down by Mark Anthony Stroman four days after the 9/11 attacks. Stroman claimed to have been motivated by anger from watching the towers fall. He is not exactly your average American, however, even apart from the shooting. For one thing, he is a white supremacist who carried a felony criminal record at the time of the attack. He also went on to shoot two more people in the weeks that followed.
Thankfully, an American jury sentenced Mark Stroman to death. The same cannot be said of many Muslim terrorists such as Lockerbie bomber, Abdelbaset Al Megrahi, who not only have sanctuary in Muslim countries, but are often treated as heroes by devout followers of Muhammad.
Nevertheless, we acknowledge that our friend is correct and that there was at least one Muslim killed in an anti-Arab hate crime in the U.S. following the anti-American hate crime on 9/11. For anyone keeping score:

Of course, 9/11 was neither the first nor the last time that Muslims have killed Americans on U.S. soil in terror attacks. In fact, since that day, Muslims have killed at least 52 people in 31 separate acts of terrorism in the United States (by the standards that Muslim-American groups set for hate crimes). Perhaps more importantly, there have been quite a few planned mass murders of Americans by Islamic terrorists that were thwarted by the FBI, law enforcement and overseas intelligence operations both before and after 9/11.
By contrast, Muslim-Americans do not appear to be in any special danger from murderous (non-Muslim) religious fanatics, even in a nation awash in firearms. Identity groups, such as CAIR, whine incessantly about relatively trivial incidents while turning a blind eye to the horrible violence that is meted out daily in the name of their religion. This distasteful petulance offers insight not only into the character of Islam, but also the impressive religious tolerance that Americans manage to maintain.

Unpopular Proposals For MPS
Last November 1st the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel, very properly, contained a number of stories and columns illuminating and commenting on the Milwaukee Public Schools and other educational issues. However and for the most part, the various writers today and in-the-past have avoided some of the possible-to-probable methods of improving those schools by cutting unneeded costs and attending to unpopular facts
As a part of my Wisconsin taxes go to support MPS. I feel free to make the below comments.
First and foremost, MPS should immediately discharge not less than 50% of all employees not involved with direct services (eg Teaching, nurses, maintenance, security) to students and those involved in directly mentoring of first-year, new, teachers. Those persons who generate the screams that a lack of tax increases will result in losses in music, arts, advanced science-and-math and other programs should be satisfied as the moneys saved by their departure will directly and indirectly allow the continuation of those programs without tax increases.
I expect howls on this suggestion! However, all inter-school athletic competition should be eliminated to use the freed-up monies for the initiation of ability-based, disiplined and general exercise programs for all pupils and students with an expected, as research proves, improvement in academic performance which athletic programs for a few do not provide. Reduction in the costs of equipment, buildings and grounds maintenance, liability insurance and like costs can also be expected.
A very unpopular thought, fact and concept is that illegal aliens and their families should be excluded from all government benefits as they cost citizens and legal aliens much more than they contribute to the common good (Remember that term?). Therefore, MPS (And all other schools and government units) should do all possible to ID "illegals" and have them removed from the USA. As a side-benefit of this, more entry level jobs will be available to the so highly unemployed Black youths and young adults, perhaps providing more two-parent families to the benefit of students' education.
Thirdly, all school staff suspected of acts of sexual and other abuse of others (In or out of school) should be reported to the police for investigation. If charged, they should be suspended from duties; If convicted, fired-for-cause and NOT allowed to resign---With that act entered in the permanent personnel file and reported to the State Superintendent of Schools. Conviction of any felony or crime-of-assault should result in the same actions as proper civil conduct is an essential part of teachers (And principals) being a proper example for the young. Any contrary contract provision is against public policy! A weighing of public interests will overcome contract law. (These events should and must be a matter of public record (In accordance with the law and the MJSs' position on "openness in government").

Upgrading Legal Standards In Wisconsin
On March 7Th the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel published a short column ("Defining the 'practice of law"") by Wisconsin's Lawyers' Union (Excuse me, Bar Association) Doug Kramer.This was much more of a defense of a monopoly than an expression of any real interest in providing the best legal services to our State's citizens.
If Mr. Kramer is rally interested in maintaining that quality he and his fellows should propose the following rules and insure their enactment:
1. Any attorney who steals from a client will have his/her law license permanently revoked;
2. Any attorney who uses his/her position to engage in a sexual relationship with a client shall suffer the same penalty;
3. Any suspension of a law license will be the last such action as a second disciplinary action, resulting in a finding of guilt, shall result in the same permanent revocation; And,
4. All disciplinary actions by the State Bar would become open records and forwarded to the like organization in all of the Several States and the territories of the USA.
Such a policy and Administrative Rule would end such "black humor" events as the Bar's decades-long fiasco of the Bar's and Supreme Courts' playing around with THAT attorney Eisenberg. Certainly Wisconsin has more than enough lawyers to afford the revocation loss of the bottom end of that profession.-
When the State Bar becomes serious about such maintenance of quality, it then should feel free to advocate for the measures Mr. Krammer proposed in the cited column. (Oh, by the way, I am more-than-pleased with my attorney.)

Gandhi---Hero Or Otherwise?
For reasons I can only guess at so many persons are pushing the teachings of that full-of-self, family abusing, opponent of human progress and attorney "Mahatma" Gandhi as an golden example of humane humaness.It might be well to take a really close look at Gandhi and the British he so opposed as to what they have left to India and the world.
We might also look at the fruits of his behaviors and thoughts in the smaller world of his family.
1. Gandhi, India, The British & Inheritances
The British found the very disorganized sub-continent of India, misruled by petty and great tyrants, with poor roads made very unsafe by thugee (Worshipers of the goddess Kali, which devotees murdered in her name---And enriched themselves by robbing those victims), unequal treatment of the People under too many non-systems of law and the will of self-serving Maharajahs and other princes, suttee (All but mandatory suicide of widows), religious discrimination and wars-and-terrorism based on Faith differences the lack of any common language or good communications AND too many other evils and limiting factors to list here.
The British imposed order, law and some measure of justice. All, including the various tyrants, were brought under a more-or-less equal rule-of-law; Thugee and suttee were suppressed; The prior and many wars between princes were stopped and banditry across the North-West frontier was resisted; Roads were repaired and made straight and a model railroad system installed; The land was mapped, telegraph service (The first "Internet") was established; Trade was facilitated and some industries established (The basis of today's "Indian Economic Miracle"); English, now THE international language, was introduced and widely spread throughout that sub-Continent; Some measures towards the limiting of evils of the caste system were begun (And are still a "work-in-progress); The peaceful worship of God and gods was protected; And, other positive steps, too many to list here, were taken towards civilization.
What then was Gandhi's thrust and gifts to us---Directly or indirectly? A return towards primitivism, Hindi as an imposed and not neutral language; Resistance to law and order; Three "Indias" rather than one as accomplished by a genocidal division; Return to inter-Religious warfare and terrorism (Including the recent Hindu assaults on Christians as added to the jihad supporters violence towards everyone who disagrees with them); Uncontrolled and barely resisted banditry across the NW frontier; Military dictatorship in Pakistan as the only rational alternative to chaos or the misrule of Mullahs; AND, too many other evils and anti-civilization acts and results to list here.

2. About the family of famous Indian political leader Mahatma Gandhi, history of his sons.
MOHANDAS KARAMCHAND GANDHI
(1869-1948), Indian political leader
His Fruits: "You want my sons to be holy men before they are men!" Gandhi's wife once exclaimed. It was true. "A blot which I have never been able to efface," wrote Gandhi, was his own absence when his father breathed his last. At that moment, Mohandas was in bed with Kasturbai, his pregnant child-wife; he never forgave himself. He abandoned sexual relations at age 37 and evidently saw his four sons as living reminders of his own sexual "curse." All of them, according to one account, "tried to live up to their father's expectations of them, but each, in his own way, failed, and in Gandhi's attitude toward their failure there was, by his own testimony, an element of guilt for sexual excesses in his childhood marriage." His sons resented their upbringing as disciples. They were not, for example, allowed the formal education which Mohandas himself had received and which would have provided them with their own choice of livelihood.
Harilal Gandhi (1888-1948) rebelled most strongly. He renounced all family ties in 1911 and embarked upon a tragic, lifelong path of self-destruction. He became a Muslim convert, an alcoholic, an embezzler; accounts of his arrests, public drunkenness, and destitution became commonplace. "I was a slave of my passions when Harilal was conceived," said Mohandas. Harilal appeared at his father's funeral in such derelict condition that few recognized him. He died in a tuberculosis sanitarium two months later.
Manilal Gandhi (1892-1956) was in disgrace in 1916 after he lent his elder brother some money. Mohandas sent him to South Africa, where he edited an Indian newspaper. Later he spent a brief period in India, bitterly astonished at the Mahatma's genial, old-age mellowness.
Ramdas Gandhi (1898-1969) had no taste for asceticism, yet participated in the grueling civil protests of the 1930s. Numerous jailings wrecked his health. Born and raised in South Africa, he never adjusted to the idealistic poverty imposed by his father.
Mohandas acted as midwife at the delivery of his youngest son, Devadas Gandhi (1900-1957).
Alone of all the sons, Devadas stayed near his father, sometimes being granted the privilege of serving as his secretary.
In 1976 Gandhi's direct descendants numbered 47 in five nations. According to Ved Mehta, author of Mahatma Gandhi and His Apostles, they "do everything from selling life insurance to working in space engineering; one is a Moral Re-Armament evangelist." Deposed Indian prime minister Indira Gandhi is no relation.

His Fruits: "You want my sons to be holy men before they are men!" Gandhi's wife once exclaimed. It was true. "A blot which I have never been able to efface," wrote Gandhi, was his own absence when his father breathed his last. At that moment, Mohandas was in bed with Kasturbai, his pregnant child-wife; he never forgave himself. He abandoned sexual relations at age 37 and evidently saw his four sons as living reminders of his own sexual "curse." All of them, according to one account, "tried to live up to their father's expectations of them, but each, in his own way, failed, and in Gandhi's attitude toward their failure there was, by his own testimony, an element of guilt for sexual excesses in his childhood marriage." His sons resented their upbringing as disciples. They were not, for example, allowed the formal education which Mohandas himself had received and which would have provided them with their own choice of livelihood.
Harilal Gandhi (1888-1948) rebelled most strongly. He renounced all family ties in 1911 and embarked upon a tragic, lifelong path of self-destruction. He became a Muslim convert, an alcoholic, an embezzler; accounts of his arrests, public drunkenness, and destitution became commonplace. "I was a slave of my passions when Harilal was conceived," said Mohandas. Harilal appeared at his father's funeral in such derelict condition that few recognized him. He died in a tuberculosis sanitarium two months later.
Manilal Gandhi (1892-1956) was in disgrace in 1916 after he lent his elder brother some money. Mohandas sent him to South Africa, where he edited an Indian newspaper. Later he spent a brief period in India, bitterly astonished at the Mahatma's genial, old-age mellowness.
Ramdas Gandhi (1898-1969) had no taste for asceticism, yet participated in the grueling civil protests of the 1930s. Numerous jailings wrecked his health. Born and raised in South Africa, he never adjusted to the idealistic poverty imposed by his father.
Mohandas acted as midwife at the delivery of his youngest son, Devadas Gandhi (1900-1957).
Alone of all the sons, Devadas stayed near his father, sometimes being granted the privilege of serving as his secretary.
In 1976 Gandhi's direct descendants numbered 47 in five nations. According to Ved Mehta, author of Mahatma Gandhi and His Apostles, they "do everything from selling life insurance to working in space engineering; one is a Moral Re-Armament evangelist." Deposed Indian prime minister Indira Gandhi is no relation.
