It now seems very unlikely that France or Vikings or a Spanish Armada or Samoans or residents of Papua New Guinea will invade the United Kingdom. That is, the invasion of Britain by some external enemy is not the concern of the Forces in this era.
The clear-and-present danger to the law-abiding subjects of the Queen comes from the subversive and physically dangerous, Islamist, "activists" within the UK who are willing to wage military-terrorist Jihad there (Or, in obedience to Islam's commands, support that with all their wealth). [There has been, at least, one study which demonstrated that 50%-plus of the UK's Muslims support all of the teachings of Islam---Including the waging and supporting of Jihad.]
It behooves the Forces to:
1. Be prepared to wage anti-terrorism actions within the UK and that on minutes' notice;
2. To keep Muslims out of all security and planning operations of those services;
3. To know of the internal plans of all Mosques (And "certain" other places) to allow armed entry to seize weapons and arrest or kill terrorist with a minimum of delay and danger.

The Costs Of NOT Having Guns For Defense
Some few days ago I heard, on TV, an anti-gun proponent decry the
medical and other costs of the People's common and considerable access
to guns.
But, what are the medical, psychological and other "costs" to unprotected people (The police are always too few and too late to protect) who are killed, physically and emotionally maimed and lose forever that part of their lives which were expended in honestly earning the money to obtain what lawfully belongs to them---When they are unable to effectively and immediately protect themselves by the use (Or, as is more common, the "mere" pointing) of a gun?
I doubt that the dollar sum of either groups of people will ever be known. But, it is unreasonable, non-factual and lying to declare that the costs of one are greater than the other.
(My practice at-arms is such that I can declare that I can save much money for the police, courts and prison systems by my ability, at the usual home-defense distance of 15-feet, of accurate and very rapid-fire placement of bullets following the FBI's protocol of "two to the chest and one to the head". )

Effective Dealing With Rioters
The recent mob actions in Philadelphia, Milwaukee and Londonistan lead to the question of how to deal with rioters as individuals and groups. The "stuck in the 1960s" social theories and resultant actions do NOT do so.
AS INDIVIDUALS AND SMALL GROUPS: The police appear usually too few or too late OR too politically afraid to take such EFFECTIVE actions as will protect innocents from death or great bodily injury or life-destroying property damage by such individuals or small groups.
However, citizens in some places can assist the police my marking such rioters as evidence. The most effective way of doing so is by putting 0.32-inch (The size of "OO" buckshot) or 9mm or .38/.45/.30-inch holes in the bodies of such thugs.
Thereafter and when danger is past, the police can take out their little note-books and record the evidence left for them. (Please Note: A hard touch of a triangular file to the lands of a gun barrel and light touch to the tip of a firing-pin and extractor will neutralize the usual forensic evidence.)
(OH YES---The same "marking" can be utilized as to home-invaders, robbers, rapists, threatening drug dealers & gang-bangers, those followers of Mohammed who attack others who criticize them or their ideology or even include then in general photos in public places) Etc.
IN LARGE GROUPS: The proven best tactic is to have them (By their own actions or by external force) gathered together in one place (eg. A stadium as in the "Nike Riots" in Constantinople, for which see) and use it as a "surrender or die killing zone".

But I think our current leader would be happy to live as a slave, because he does not see much in our culture that is worth saving by fighting. I know that Obama suffers from a vast historical ignorance, one he reveals on a regular basis, so I doubt he has more than a passing familiarity with Churchill’s life or thinking. Nevertheless, it was entirely fitting that our Quisling, Vichy-esque President, as one of his first acts in office, got rid of the Churchill reminder occupying space in his office, and sent it on an ignominious trip aback to its land of origin.

Of Vigilantes, Peoples Courts, ETC
From time-to-time in such diverse places as the banks off the Mississippi River (Cannibal river pirates), Gold Rush California, 1956 Hungary, the Highlands of Scotland the normal processes of law have been ignored to put-down gross criminality. In some cases the "authorities" were unable, and too often unwilling, to safeguard the innocent.
In some places citizens would take time-off from providing for the support of themselves and their families and would form up "Committees Of Vigilance" (ie Vigilantes) which would inquired into crimes, acting as police and courts, and "execute" justice, if not law' on criminals.
In some revolutionary times, citizens would bring alleged offenders to "People's Courts" which had some semblance of traditional law----Without the nit-picking of lawyers.
I do not maintain that the above two examples protected the "rights" of (Accused) criminals, but they did safeguard that minimum of ORDER as is needed before there can be LAW or the hope for JUSTICE.
In the USA of today, the lawful authorities have NOT maintained order or law along most of our Southern border. Those authorities have failed to use the civil police, the military and even the "Organized Militia" (Which is NOT the "National Guard"!) to maintain minimum order. It may be that is now the duty AND right of the unorganized militia (Being all citizens capable of bearing arms and self-armed), "Committees Of Vigilance" and "Peoples Courts" to maintain order AND safeguard-the-innocent.
The governments of Egypt, the Sudan, "Palestine" and other "nations" with Muslim majority national or local (eg France, Sweden and Dearborn, Michigan) are unable or unwilling to protect non-Muslims from Islamic attacks. Certainly the forces deployed by the UN and African Union have not been able to stop such attacks.
MORE AND MORE THE USA IS SEEING AGGRESSIVE AND VIOLENT ACTS BY MUSLIMS AGAINST THOSE WHO INSIST THAT THE LAWS OF THIS REPUBLIC, THE SEVERAL STATES AND LOCAL JURISDICTIONS BE OBEYED.
In fact, some might rightly claim that the Crusaders were such loosely organized and effective bodies of armed men, outside of the authority of civil rulers, who acted to protect the innocent and punish evil-doers. Although they were not successful in the Near East, that crusader spirit was key to the turning back of Islamic aggression in other places AND TO THE PRESERVATION OF CIVILIZATION.
I can think of some persons in the USA who might well be subjected to the authority of "Committees Of Vigilance" and "Peoples Courts"

Troops Back From Middle East??
There are good reasons to bring our troops home from Iraq and Afghanistan and, thereafter, from the EU.
1. These battle hardened troops could be redeployed to our border with Mexico to insure border security (Against job-and-identity thieves, Middle-Eastern terrorists disguised as Latinos, "gang bangers", drug lords' "hit" and kidnapping squads, previously deported criminals and other such scum), prevent or react to a Pancho Villa style raid on US territory AND to complete an effective border-fence (Not less than four rows of razor ribbon required) by use of engineer units backed-up by regulars.
2. To be available to execute their right to vote (Well before the 2012 elections) , now often very difficult to those troops (Could keeping them overseas be part of Mr.Obama's plan for reelection?).
3. To let those unruly and Islamic terrorists of that region kill each other as they have for the last 1400-years rather than focusing on killing "unbelievers".
4. To be available to suppress Islamic violence in the USA, most specially in the "no go" (And probably heavily armed) Muslim enclaves in our nation.
After that, the US troops in the EU should be recalled to the USA to the savings of much of our tax dollars. If, and only if, the nations of the EU wish to defend themselves from the aggression of Czar Putin and the too many Muslims now living there they must then increase their armed forces and related spending (It would be best if they did not arm-and-train terrorists---Muslims).
The disadvantages of the above actions are based on the fact that such Middle-Eastern combat makes our troops (At a terrible cost in blood and treasure) battle hardened and the only remaining large military force in the world in that condition. (UK and Canadian troops are excellent; But, they are parts of very small forces. Also, it is better to fight the criminal-terrorist movement known as Islam away from our cities and fields.

Gandhi---Hero Or Otherwise?
For reasons I can only guess at so many persons are pushing the teachings of that full-of-self, family abusing, opponent of human progress and attorney "Mahatma" Gandhi as an golden example of humane humaness.It might be well to take a really close look at Gandhi and the British he so opposed as to what they have left to India and the world.
We might also look at the fruits of his behaviors and thoughts in the smaller world of his family.
1. Gandhi, India, The British & Inheritances
The British found the very disorganized sub-continent of India, misruled by petty and great tyrants, with poor roads made very unsafe by thugee (Worshipers of the goddess Kali, which devotees murdered in her name---And enriched themselves by robbing those victims), unequal treatment of the People under too many non-systems of law and the will of self-serving Maharajahs and other princes, suttee (All but mandatory suicide of widows), religious discrimination and wars-and-terrorism based on Faith differences the lack of any common language or good communications AND too many other evils and limiting factors to list here.
The British imposed order, law and some measure of justice. All, including the various tyrants, were brought under a more-or-less equal rule-of-law; Thugee and suttee were suppressed; The prior and many wars between princes were stopped and banditry across the North-West frontier was resisted; Roads were repaired and made straight and a model railroad system installed; The land was mapped, telegraph service (The first "Internet") was established; Trade was facilitated and some industries established (The basis of today's "Indian Economic Miracle"); English, now THE international language, was introduced and widely spread throughout that sub-Continent; Some measures towards the limiting of evils of the caste system were begun (And are still a "work-in-progress); The peaceful worship of God and gods was protected; And, other positive steps, too many to list here, were taken towards civilization.
What then was Gandhi's thrust and gifts to us---Directly or indirectly? A return towards primitivism, Hindi as an imposed and not neutral language; Resistance to law and order; Three "Indias" rather than one as accomplished by a genocidal division; Return to inter-Religious warfare and terrorism (Including the recent Hindu assaults on Christians as added to the jihad supporters violence towards everyone who disagrees with them); Uncontrolled and barely resisted banditry across the NW frontier; Military dictatorship in Pakistan as the only rational alternative to chaos or the misrule of Mullahs; AND, too many other evils and anti-civilization acts and results to list here.

MOHANDAS KARAMCHAND GANDHI
(1869-1948), Indian political leader
His Fruits: "You want my sons to be holy men before they are men!" Gandhi's wife once exclaimed. It was true. "A blot which I have never been able to efface," wrote Gandhi, was his own absence when his father breathed his last. At that moment, Mohandas was in bed with Kasturbai, his pregnant child-wife; he never forgave himself. He abandoned sexual relations at age 37 and evidently saw his four sons as living reminders of his own sexual "curse." All of them, according to one account, "tried to live up to their father's expectations of them, but each, in his own way, failed, and in Gandhi's attitude toward their failure there was, by his own testimony, an element of guilt for sexual excesses in his childhood marriage." His sons resented their upbringing as disciples. They were not, for example, allowed the formal education which Mohandas himself had received and which would have provided them with their own choice of livelihood.
Harilal Gandhi (1888-1948) rebelled most strongly. He renounced all family ties in 1911 and embarked upon a tragic, lifelong path of self-destruction. He became a Muslim convert, an alcoholic, an embezzler; accounts of his arrests, public drunkenness, and destitution became commonplace. "I was a slave of my passions when Harilal was conceived," said Mohandas. Harilal appeared at his father's funeral in such derelict condition that few recognized him. He died in a tuberculosis sanitarium two months later.
Manilal Gandhi (1892-1956) was in disgrace in 1916 after he lent his elder brother some money. Mohandas sent him to South Africa, where he edited an Indian newspaper. Later he spent a brief period in India, bitterly astonished at the Mahatma's genial, old-age mellowness.
Ramdas Gandhi (1898-1969) had no taste for asceticism, yet participated in the grueling civil protests of the 1930s. Numerous jailings wrecked his health. Born and raised in South Africa, he never adjusted to the idealistic poverty imposed by his father.
Mohandas acted as midwife at the delivery of his youngest son, Devadas Gandhi (1900-1957).
Alone of all the sons, Devadas stayed near his father, sometimes being granted the privilege of serving as his secretary.
In 1976 Gandhi's direct descendants numbered 47 in five nations. According to Ved Mehta, author of Mahatma Gandhi and His Apostles, they "do everything from selling life insurance to working in space engineering; one is a Moral Re-Armament evangelist." Deposed Indian prime minister Indira Gandhi is no relation.

Admiring Today's Europe---NOT
B. H. Obama appears to feel that Americans think lightly, at best, of Europe and might be even considered arrogant towards and derisive of that sub-continent and its culture.
I could not disagree more! Americans admire Europe--The Europe that was. That is, the Europe which that was the source of our freedoms (Especially the UK), intellectual and academic systems (Especially Germany and France) AND of democracy itself..
Too many Europeans have long ago thrown away these sources and foundations (Especially those soundly built on the Christian Churches) for socialist "feel-goodness" and the "nanny state".. Those Europeans of today are unwilling to remember, cherish and protect their once world leading culture. They are now in the process of surrendering it to Islamists and turning their nations into a collective Euroarabia with Londonistan as its capitol.
American has an earned right to be arrogant, a realistic evaluation of its own worth.
The USA is the goal, even in these economically bad times, for those who are seeking economic and political freedom and the right to be better than the others left behind to stew in their own socialistic and cultural dead-ends. In the UK, there is a shortage of physicians as many have fled that more-and-more tyrannical and incompetent nation for the USA and such other English speaking nations that still maintain some shadows of opportunity for those who wish to succeed and be free.
America has a right to be arrogant in its academic excellence (Even as it rots out by the disease of "political correctness") where domestic and foreign-born scholars win so many Nobel Prizes and draw so many students from so many nations.
It has a right to be arrogant in the ability and ethics (In spite of what the New York Times and other John Paul Goebbels style "journalists" put out) of our Armed Forces---Who have twice rescued Europe from tyrants. There has never been a military so able and willing to punish those who violate the Laws Of War.
American has a right to be arrogant in its tolerence (Until last January) for such differing religious and political views as would (And have) yielded bloody civil wars, dictatorships and genocides.
As part of his rights as a presumed American citizen, Mr. B. H. Obama has the right to give up his citizenship and become a citizen of some European nation---Or of Kenya or Indonesia. Perhaps he would feel more at home there and would certainly be less destructive of the American traditions of effort and earned success.
I could not disagree more! Americans admire Europe--The Europe that was. That is, the Europe which that was the source of our freedoms (Especially the UK), intellectual and academic systems (Especially Germany and France) AND of democracy itself..
Too many Europeans have long ago thrown away these sources and foundations (Especially those soundly built on the Christian Churches) for socialist "feel-goodness" and the "nanny state".. Those Europeans of today are unwilling to remember, cherish and protect their once world leading culture. They are now in the process of surrendering it to Islamists and turning their nations into a collective Euroarabia with Londonistan as its capitol.
American has an earned right to be arrogant, a realistic evaluation of its own worth.
The USA is the goal, even in these economically bad times, for those who are seeking economic and political freedom and the right to be better than the others left behind to stew in their own socialistic and cultural dead-ends. In the UK, there is a shortage of physicians as many have fled that more-and-more tyrannical and incompetent nation for the USA and such other English speaking nations that still maintain some shadows of opportunity for those who wish to succeed and be free.
America has a right to be arrogant in its academic excellence (Even as it rots out by the disease of "political correctness") where domestic and foreign-born scholars win so many Nobel Prizes and draw so many students from so many nations.
It has a right to be arrogant in the ability and ethics (In spite of what the New York Times and other John Paul Goebbels style "journalists" put out) of our Armed Forces---Who have twice rescued Europe from tyrants. There has never been a military so able and willing to punish those who violate the Laws Of War.

Obama Insult To The British---And Americans
It has been reported that Mr. Obama has removed the bust of Winston Churchill (Who wrote hard, but honest, things about Islam) from the Oval Office and returned it the UK. That is a gross insult to the British----And those Americans who still understand that the "Britain That Was" is the well source of our laws, customs and civilization.
However, the UK's Labour Party's various policies (Including its "submission" to the forces of Islam; Attempting to remove Mr. Churchill from school history books) provide enough insults to the British People to cover-up Mr. Obama's like surrender to Islamic "sensibilities", leaving the followers of Mohammed of Mecca free to focus on beheading or otherwise murdering their women-and-girls and killing "unbelievers".

Oxford Junior Dictionary VS. Christianity
This entry could as well have been headed, "The Price Of A Multi-Cultural Society" OR
"Destroying History So Its Mistakes Can Be Repeated".
The "Oxford Junior Dictionary" (UK) has dropped such words as "bishop", "disciple",
"chapel", "sin" and "devil".
If such measures are successful, then the Secularists (ie Atheists) can begin eliminating such words as "Buddha", "Gospel", "mercy", "Democracy", "History", "Jews", "Justice", "God", "Jesus" and (If and only if those mind killers have the courage) "Koran", "Islam" and "Mohammed".
Such "verbal engineering" as comes before "social engineering" should remind all of the of the "newspeak" in George Orwell's novel "1984". Of course, this novel and its lessons are not taught in "newschools" or known in "newnewsrooms".

Solving The Congo & Zimbabwe Problems
Too many (Especially at the "Useless Nations" (UN) have been dancing around the obvious solution to the horrid problems in and of the Congo and Zimbabwe. That solution is to return those areas to White rule as Blacks have clearly demonstrated their inability and unwillingness to manage their own affairs.
Of course, the "contract rulers" would be entitled to a reasonable (20%?) portion of those nations' incomes (Thus providing motivation to improve their economies) and the authority to shoot-on-sight any Black found armed with a pistol, bomb or military rifle (After a very short grace period in which such weapons could be turned in to the new rulers). (That portion of national wealth-and-income would be required to pay for the several divisions or many brigades of trained troops (eg Ghurkas?) needed for the initial peace establishing period.
In fact, such an arrangement could be applied to certain (Generally urban) portions of France, the UK and (Most specially) the USA, as well as Palestine and other like non-governed lands.
Of course, the implementation of such a plan would bring many "ivory towers" tumbling about the head of the too many "words can solve problems" useless persons and organizations.
Please remember that civilization is a structure with ORDER at its base, upon which is established LAW and, when those are fixed in place, building of JUSTICE may then (And only them) proceed.

The End Of British Law Has Begun--Warning
Even after the foundation of this nation, we still relied on British (English) law as to procedures, definitions, citations (Until we had our own) and all the convolutions which so appeal to judges. Even in the recent "hand-gun decision", some of the arguments presented to the Supreme Court of the USA were those in British law or directly based on such. Why? Because the flow of such a legal system was towards one law for all under it.
The elimination of "benefit of clergy", sanctuary, trial-by-combat and trials before the House of Lords for peers all moved all of the Queen's subjects towards equality under law.
Now, Muslims have their own legal system (Sharia) inflicted on themselves for domestic case (Where Muslim women complaining of mistreatment have few, if any, real rights (Especially with the pro-Sharia cooperation of the Police) and the judgments of Islamic judges enforced by the British courts. Now, Muslim men are effectively beyond the reach of democratically passed domestic-relations laws binding on other British subjects. (Family pressures, with the usual Islamic threats of murder and beating, as well as that of police will insure that women "volunteer" to accept Sharia jurisdiction.)
I do wonder how long it will be before Muslims maintain a legal claim that their Mosques are secure from even warrant-based searches for fugitives and their stores of weapons.
For those in the USA, the Commonwealth and other nations with British based law systems, the degeneration of the UK's law away from "equal justice under law" should be a warning. For the British, it may be a sign that they truly need: A new government; A new Chief Justice; And, a new Archbishop of Canterbury. For the Scots, it may mean that even more serious consideration be given to disunion.

More Lies About St. George
THE VERY LEFT-WING "THINK TANK" EKKESIA (UK) PRESENTED THE VIEWS OF THE GREEN PARTY, BUT FLAMING RAINBOW PERSON (I WILL NOT USE "MAN" OR "GENTLEMAN" TO DESCRIBE HIM) PETER TATCHELL AS TO ST. GEORGE. BELOW IS MY LETTER TO THAT UK ORGANIZATION.
Mr. Peter Tatchell is of the worst sub-class of liars, those who use half-truths to corrupt history and subtract from the sub-total of human knowledge. His declaration that the father of St. George was "Turkish" seems to ignore the fact that there were no Turks in Anatolia in his time. To declare that St. George's mother was a "Palestinian" appears to be some perverted effort to link that warrior with the Arab occupiers of parts of today's Holy Land whose commitment to following Mohammed's instructions to use murder, genocide, perpetual war and the other horrors contained within the Koran and Hadith is too apparent in today's events and has been in that area since Muslim bandits occupied that land.
To the whores-of-history as tell such lies as Mr. Tatchell, I note that St. George is the multi-national (In the true Churches of East and West) symbol of the perpetual war against evil and the Evil One and of such of his all too eager helpers as the Mr. Tatchell. His statements are proof that the Evil One is "The Father Of Lies".
My key question for today is: Why do you assist in the lying work of the Evil One? My secondary question is: Why does the RC Church in the UK do the same?

The Patron Saint of England (and a number of other countries) has been hailed a human rights campaigner by fellow activist Peter Tatchell - who backs ideas that his national day should be a public holiday celebrating dissent.
"It is time we ditched the myths surrounding St George and celebrated the reality of his courageous life", said Tatchell - who is a prospective Green candidate in Oxford, and has gained widespread media attention for his direct action campaigns for Tibet, against Robert Mugabe, and for the LGBT group OutRage!

Hear O' Israel---And Learn From History
I specially address this note to the Jews of the UK and ask them to reflect on the words of George Santayana: "Those who cannot remember the past are condemned to repeat it" as the lessons so terribly taught in Europe in the 1930s and 1940s must specially be brought to the forefront of all, especially Jews, in the United Kingdom of today. The same "signs and portents" as published by the Nazis in those earlier days are now growing in power and effect put forth by the Nazi like ideology of Islam in the UK of today.
Those Jews who could read the future in those earlier years fled Europe for other lands and saved themselves. Millions of those who did not are now as smoke after a wind storm, remembered but no longer in existence---Just as are all the words and non-actions of the pathological-pacifists of that day (And this) are as to stopping such genocides.
The UK's Jews of today must remember the past so as to not be condemned to a new Shoah. The choices are stark and more immediate that most think or believe. The Government of the UK is very apparently surrendering to the forces of the Jihadi who have seized control of Islam and will not protect Jews now or in the days-of-dread which are so close upon them.
Those stark choices are these: Flee the UK; Or, find some new Judas Maccabeus to lead them in a campaign to crush and destroy their enemies before such creatures of hate escalate to beyond the level of massacre the already initiated war against the Jews.

Disestablish C-of-E OR Return To Christianity?
The Economist weekly journal/newspaper of the UK has proposed that the Church of England be "disestablished", severed from its special place as a quasi-governmental part of the UK's power structure.
To an American as myself the proposition that the Church of England be "disestablished" and severed from its quasi-governmental status in the UK might sound like a good idea as it has been, more or less, in effect in the USA since 1789AD and allows us the religion based and morality-directed political debate that so many Europeans find "incomprehensible".
The danger of that severing is, as we Americans have experienced, is that some legislative dictators or judicial tyrants will extend that division in attempts to exclude religious and moral teaching from all public places and forums, favoring the amoral or immoral lack-of-principles of the secularists (ie Proponents of the "Religion of Atheism") in all ways and all places.
Upon reflecting on the ethical, political, economic, military and other weakness of so many British institutions and policies as have developed since 1945 (Or, earlier, from the time of Henry VIII), it might be better if the Archbishop of Canterbury, too many other Anglican leaders, the Royal Family and the Government actually returned to the civilization supporting, charitable, and sound basic teachings and practices of the Church and its daughter, Western Civilization. In other words, the problem is NOT too much Christianity BUT too little. This lack opens the door to the anti-civilization forces of the ideology of Saudi-style Islam and Mao/Stalin/Hitler forms of secular humanism both of which support genocide and other gross crimes and neither of which have produced the self-correcting progress of Christianity-based progress in the positive development of the human and humane state.

The Camel's Nose---A Parable RE: Sharia
The controversy over the proposed formal recognition of Sharia law into the UK's legal system appears to puzzle some. As Islam is, basically, an "Arab thing" (Made more so by the millions spent by Saudis in forwarding their interpretation of that ideology), we should look to a Arab tale (For which see below) to explain the worries some have about such a "little intrusion" into the "tent" of British law.

Failed Prohibitions---Alcohol & Guns
THE FOLLOWING LETTER WAS SENT TO VARIOUS COMMONWEALTH EDITORS AND REAL PERSONS.
In the USA the Prohibition against the manufacture, importation, etc. of alcoholic beverages was a very great failure as if failed of its goals of a more sober America and reduction in alcohol related social problems. As a matter of fact, that experiment (Like so many others supported by the proponents of the "Nanny State") brought more evil into the USA by: Raising minor gangsters to positions of great power; Increased the level of corruption among public officials; May have, through making drinking the "forbidden fruit", increased drinking and resultant personal problems; Destroyed the beer industry, substituting "booze" and drinking to get drunk for the liquid-bread previously enjoyed among family and friends; And, encouraged a general disrespect for the Law on the basis of the noted corruption, general breaking of laws and glorification of such as Al Capone.
In the UK and over the last 60-years or so, there has been imposed and inflicted on the Queen's subjects a growing prohibition against both the private possession of effective firearms and the Natural Law right to self-defense, those defending themselves against criminal attacks do so in violation of public policies-and-laws and at great peril of being treated more harshly than those who attack them.
There was a time (With lower crime rates) that real people (Not only such fictional ones as Holmes' Dr. Watson) thought nothing of putting a large-bore revolver in their coat pocket before going into dangerous areas or situations OR just walking about. In those times such truly real and truly great people as G. K. Chesterton actually took pride in going about armed (In his case with a sword cane).
I think there is little doubt that the UK's experiment with effectively banning the private ownership of effective firearms and suppressing the right to self-defense (And the means of executing that right) has horridly failed. According to published crime figures (Even allowing for suppression of some by UK police authorities): It is much more dangerous to walk about the streets of London than of New York City; The overall serious crime rate in the UK has overcome and surpassed, sometimes by 60%, that in the USA; The criminal misuse of firearms in the UK has skyrocketed (Remember: "When guns are outlawed, only outlaws will have guns."); 50%-plus of UK's burglaries now occur when the home is lawfully occupied (A crime often called "Home Invasion" in the USA); And, armed robberies increased more than 50% in one year (2002).
This evidence does not support the claims of the Labour Government and other "nannies" that gun banning has been a success!
What, then, should be done? I suggest that, over the next four years, the following be done:
1. First and foremost, the Parliament should affirm that individuals have a right to self-defense against criminal attacks (Including home invasions) and that the use of weapons in such defense is allowable under law and not subject to criminal or civil prosecutions;
2. Immediately issue personal handguns (0.38-caliber/9mm) and 50-rounds of frangible ammunition to all active duty police officers, customs agents, commissioned military officers, senior military NCOs and like persons, such weapons to be kept as their private property and carried in a concealed manner, at their discretion, when off duty and not drinking alcoholic beverages;
3. Within a year make the same issuance to all honorably retired persons in the above categories, upon their request, under the same conditions plus passing a live firing exercise by placing six of six rounds in a silhouette target's chest area at three-meters;
4. Within four-years make concealed weapons carrying permits available to all adult citizens of the UK who pass an annual police record check (Only drug and violent crime convictions to exclude such permits), pass a gun safety course (Not more than ten-hours) and pass a every three years shooting test as noted above.
Of course, a conviction for a criminal or negligent misuse of a fire arm would result in revocations of any such licenses; But, as few other restrictions should be put in place as is possible.
I suspect that the serious crime rate in the UK will begin dropping after steps 1 & 2 are enacted and continue to decrease over and beyond the noted four-year period. There might be a short increase in (Justifiable) homicides while the current crop of thugs learn that "the rules have changed", a phenomena which will reduce the strains of the UK's overcrowded prison system.
Other Commonwealth nations which have been experimenting with gun bans, and have likewise failed to protect their Citizens, should consider the same solution.
PS---If there is a shortage of firearms available to enact my
recommendations, I suggest that the Authorities search
the various Mosques and other Islamic centers out of
a reasonable expectation that they have modern weapons
stored-and-stockpiled within their walls.

It Must Be The Water---In The UK
Let's see: Highly paid and Muslim doctors in the UK attempt to blow up an air port; Favored young sons of Muslim families having the benefits of what still remains, if just barely, a Civilized education in the UK join terrorist movements and commit their horrid acts; All toy pigs and "piggy banks" are removed from British public view in an attempt to not offend Muslims (But, not previously found necessary as to Jews); Government agencies refuse to fly the Union Jack lest its crosses are felt as insulting to Muslims; Ministers of State declare that the word "terrorist" is no longer acceptable---IT MUST BE THE WATER!!!
Perhaps, someone should analysis the water supplies for those Mosques attended by the noted doctors and youths, that at the Labour Party HQ and its other offices, Number-10 Downing Street and like places for traces of LSD or other toxins.
If the water is not contaminated by such substances, we can only assign cause for such aberrant behaviors to such human stupidity as: Once caused Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain to think compromise with Hitler would assure peace and Hitler to think Germany could conquer and maintain control over Europe; And, now causes people to continue to believe in the aggressive and horrid, anti-civilization, teachings of Islam and others to believe that being overly polite to todays Hitlers, operating out of Mosques, will assure "peace in our time" (Remember that phrase?).
To paraphrase a Spanish philosopher: "Those who do not learn from history will be condemned to repeat it".
